California Prop 65
Proposition 65 is a California Law that requires businesses to notify California consumers about qualifying amounts of certain substances in consumer goods. Also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, Proposition 65 is intended to assist California consumers with making informed decisions about the products they purchase and the impact on their health.
Although you should always be aware and take notice of any product warning, a Proposition 65 warning does not mean that a product is unsafe. While we (or our vendors) may test for Proposition 65 listed chemicals in many products we sell, out of an abundance of caution, we have elected to place this warning on our website to make sure that our customers are informed.
WARNING: Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm may be present in products sold here.
For more information about Proposition 65, please visit the State of California’s website here.
Why does E-Z-Hook Place a Proposition 65 warning on many products?
A Proposition 65 warning means one of two things:
(1) the company evaluated the exposure and has concluded that product exceeds the “no significant risk level”; or
(2) the company has chosen to provide a warning simply based on its knowledge about the presence of a listed chemical without attempting to evaluate the exposure. With most of the E-Z-Hook products the chemical exposure is below the Proposition 65 level of concern, or even zero. However, out of an abundance of caution, E-Z-Hook has elected to place the Proposition 65 warning on all products shipped to California
